Hail season

Hail comes fast.
Be covered before it lands.

Hail is one of the most expensive things a vehicle meets, and a five-minute storm can mean a claim. WHIP hangs over a door and takes the stone first on the window glass beneath it, parked or on the road.

What it throws at a vehicle

  • Stones from a quarter to a baseball

The sizes people recognize, from an inch across to nearly three. Big stones fall fast and dent everything they hit.

  • Ice with wind behind it

Hail rarely falls straight. Storm outflow drives it sideways into doors and glass.

  • Minutes of warning

A watch gives hours. A warning gives minutes. Fifteen minutes on is enough for the watch.

What the kit is built for

Hail, debris and weather-driven projectiles at the doors and the glass they cover. The panel hangs over and into the door frame with the doors latched.

What it is not

There is no hail size rating and this site does not add one. The panel may not cover every inch of glass, and the agreement says so. Not bullet resistant. Not wind rated.

  • A red pickup with WHIP guards strapped over its doors, large hailstones falling around it and piling on the ground

Questions

Before you pay.

Protects against hail, debris and weather-driven projectiles. Not bullet resistant. Not wind rated.

What size hail is it built for?
The agreement says hail, debris and weather-driven projectiles without a size rating. The proof page lists the sizes people recognize, from pea to baseball.
How much of the vehicle does it cover?
Most of the window glass and part of the door. The agreement says the panel may not cover every inch of glass. Hood, roof and bed are outside what the kit covers.
Can I put it on in the rain?
Yes. About fifteen minutes, one person, no tools.

Storms don't wait.
Be ready.

Fifteen minutes on, five minutes off, and it stores in its bag. Order before the season, not during it.
