Tornado season

Outflow throws everything.
The doors are covered.

Most storms that put up a tornado watch never produce one. All of them throw gravel, limbs and roofing on their outflow winds, and most of them carry hail. The kit is built for that.

What it throws at a vehicle

  • Outflow debris

The gust front ahead of a supercell moves gravel, limbs and roofing at speed across whole neighborhoods.

  • Hail cores

The same storms that produce tornadoes drop the biggest hail of the year.

  • Hours of watching

Plains storms are tracked for hours before they arrive. A watch is time enough to put the panels on.

What the kit is built for

Hail, debris and weather-driven projectiles at the doors and the glass they cover.

What it is not

The kit is not a shelter and not wind rated. A tornado itself is outside anything a door panel can do, and the agreement says so. Not bullet resistant.

Questions

Before you pay.

Protects against hail, debris and weather-driven projectiles. Not bullet resistant. Not wind rated.

Does it protect the vehicle from a tornado?
No. It is built for what a storm throws at the doors and glass: hail, debris and projectiles. It is not wind rated.
What about the windshield?
The kit covers most of the window glass and part of the door, and the agreement says the glass may still break. The windshield, hood and roof are outside what it covers.
Is it worth putting on for a watch that comes to nothing?
Fifteen minutes on and five off, and it goes back in the bag. It is designed to go on for the watch and come off after.

Storms don't wait.
Be ready.

Fifteen minutes on, five minutes off, and it stores in its bag. Order before the season, not during it.
